Artist Statement

This is the first drawing I did for the new illustration series. The scene and the emotions intertwined in my dream: blue water surrounding me, sea creatures trying to be closer to me, waves rolling in the deep motion and pushing me forward...I had this sensual and emotional feeling of wanting to be embraced by the creatures, but I could not move in the dream. The freedom was constrained, while the wish was strong. It made me cry out of the dream. I don't want to forget it. So I decided to draw it out.
